Sorry to be so graphic, but I feel the need to vent...
Been throwing up alllll day... I feel like I've been initiated into some sort of sadistic sisterhood.
Actually, waves of nausea have been coming and going pretty badly most of the day so far. :( I think this might be one of my worst days. And to make matters worse, it's not like feeling pukey makes me ANY less hungry. So I just keep eating and sending it back... I'm taking the advice of one of my pregnancy books... and that is, if you know you're going to have to see your food again, at least eat things that don't look that bad the second time around.
By the way, saltines are a big, fat joke. File them under all the other old wive's tales about pregnancy.

Still playing with the fetal doppler over here. It's certainly more fun than prime-time tv right now, that's for sure. I rented it here. The model that we rented has a feature that lets you record the heartbeat to your computer! Of course I was all over that.... Listen to what we recorded last night!

When I left work yesterday afternoon, I could neither zipper NOR button my pants. Not cool. So today I am getting some pretty funny looks from people because I came to work in what is essentially pajamas.
I have reached the point of not caring what my clothes look like as long as they are comfortable. I knew it would come sooner or later... just didn't realize it would be THIS soon.
I am 10 weeks pregnant as of yesterday. That's a big milestone. One of my books says that now the baby has everything it needs... organs, fingers, toes, a winning smile, and a sense of humor.. it's a small-scale human now. Just has a lot of growing to do.
Tom and I rented a fetal doppler so we can listen to baby Madeline or Benjamin's heartbeat at home. This is both because we are high-tech parents and because I am paranoid. Mostly the latter. It's really neat though. I listen it every night before bed and every morning before I leave for work if I have the time to find it. (It's an elusive little thing to find!!!)
I am registering my prediction right now that this is a baby girl, by the way. Call it wishful thinking or mother's intuition... I just have a feeling.
Oh, and no puking so far today. Bonus!

Lots of firsts this week! :)
Our first doctor's appointment was Tuesday, August 25th. We got to hear baby's heartbeat -- 170 beats per minute!!!! Doctor says everything looks good and sent me for more bloodwork.
Also, puked for the very first time just yesterday. That was fun. ;) I'm hoping it was a one-time occurence because it's not an enjoyable activity. Ugh.
In keeping with the trend of comparing my child to various food items, you'll be happy to know that baby is about the size of a cherry this week. Whether of the Bing or Marracino variety I do not know.

I will probably pay for this comment... but.... Not nauseaus for two days! Wahoo! A record! Breakfast still isn't really all that appealing, but what can ya do? I am so tired I could cry. Can barely hold my head up at my desk right now. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.....

Haven't posted in a few days because nothing much new is happening. Same old tired, nauseaus, yuckiness.
Today I decided to switch doctors. I was comparing hospitals and found one that's much nicer than the one where my current doc has privileges. My new first appt. is August 25th. :)
