French Toast Casserole

I'm making this for Christmas morning breakfast!

8 slices of bread
2 (8 oz.) pkgs. cream cheese
Put 4 slices of bread in 13x9-inch casserole dish. Cover with cubed cream cheese. Top with other four slices of bread.
1 dozen eggs, whipped
2 c. milk
1/3 c. maple syrup
Optional: cinnamon, vanilla, sugar
Pour mixture over bread. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Bake at 375 degrees for 45 minutes. Serve hot with syrup. Serve with bacon or sausage for a nice breakfast for 8.

Sounds awesome Erin! My mom makes a breakfast similar to this - you prepare it all the night before, pop it in the oven for an hour on Christmas morning, and we don't have to worry about anything! It has eggs, bread, sausage meat, cheese, onions, etc. - a whole meal! We always have it with champagne and orange juice...my favorite!
