Nursery...

Everyone once in awhile I wander by the third bedroom upstairs and think, "I should really give the nursery some thought...." But then I think how first, I have to figure out a way to absorb a bookcase, a table, a computer desk and all its computer accoutrements, and a filing cabinet, as well as all of the contents of the closet somewhere into the rest of my house. And then I close the door and decide to think about it another time.

My current excuse for procrastination is that we don't know the sex of the baby. But I can't use that excuse for much longer. (Speaking of which, I just realized that since we are not going to share the sex of the baby, I won't be able to post pictures of my nursery and I'll have to keep that door shut when people come over. Shoot. Oh well... still not telling. ;) )

So yeah... I also need to purchase another piece of furniture, which is really the last thing I need in my already overstuffed house, but the baby needs drawer space and the matching armoire is staying in Benjamin's room. The changing table is probably going to get sold/given away since the dresser will double as a changing table for as long as we'd use one. (not long, we tend to gravitate toward the floor for changing purposes)

And then there is the problem of the closet... it's about 4-feet side with one sad little shelf. So I have to put in a closet system of some sort... (I'm not talking California Closets here, just Rubbermaid)

Too much to do... too overwhelmed to think about it all. Maybe after the holidays? Maybe after the baby comes? Can I just hire someone to think about it for me?!

Also, if anyone has any brilliant ideas for making the most of a very small space, I'm all ears. The room is only about 9x9!
Thankfully, I have neighbors who have used the room as a nursery, so I have some ideas as far as how to place the furniture. (it works amazingly well!) But clever storage ideas would be great!

Comments:
I have no suggestions, but will be curious what you come up with - the room that is currently my office will become the nursery. The room is about the size of a cardboard box, and the closet the size of a shoe box, so it should be fun trying to get furniture in here!

claire's nursery is small too. I would recommend not using a changing table, but instead using the dresser with a changing pad. It works out well for us!

I am having trouble thinking storage ideas, because I am too stuck on the fact you are keeping the sex a secret...heheheh I am gonna go crazY!!!!! ;)
