Decisions Decisions... (silly ones)

I'm working on collecting things for the walls in Too's room...

In Benjamin's room (his big boy room, not his nursery), I put his name on the wall in those big wooden letters. (from Company Kids if anyone's interested) I was thinking I might do the same thing in Too's nursery, but then I realized I'll be turning it into a big kid room in a couple of years and might rather do it then. And the colors would be totally different so I'd need all new letters. I know, lame problem, huh? But these are the things that pop into my head while I'm laying awake with aching hips at night.

So either I'm going to ditch the name on the wall idea altogether for the nursery, or, my other thought was to just do "B-A-B-Y" in white letters over the crib. Would that be cheesy?

The problem is that SOMETHING wide has to go over the crib because it's such a big space to fill and I learned my lesson putting shelves up over Benjamin's crib. (by the time he was 1-1/2 he had learned how to pull the things OFF the shelves)

Comments:
Here's a thought I just had for the "watermelon seed's" room...Big (like 8x10) black and white prints of the kid's feet/foot and hands/hand, in black frames, with larger white mattes. I'm big into photography.

Or just big black & white prints of each of our pets. Hmmm...

Then, when the kid has it's "big boy/girl" room, I'll just move the prints into the living room or hallway or other common room in the house, cause I love prints like that.

Val, a friend of mine has done that in her living room... they really do look cool. I'm not sure I could pull off black and white in Too's room... it's very pastely right now. But I would still love to take those pictures anyway and figure out someplace else to put them.

Since you're the painter in the house, you could spray paint the letters when it's time for Too's Big room. I saw that Hobby Lobby had the letters (unpainted) and they are really cute. Just a thought. Not sure if you have a Hobby Lobby up there or not...

By the way...how many letters would you need for Too's first name?????

I have a print over Bellas crib, just as I did over Beauxs.

Diana... they do have those at the Michaels near me.

And also, you are SNEAKY. ;)

I would need... let's just say... several... um... especially if Too is one sex vs. the other. In fact, holy cow, I'm not even sure the name will fit on the wall now that I think about it and it's not really shortenable like Benjamin's (we just did "Ben" on his wall). Well, that settles that I suppose. B-A-B-Y it is. ;)

What about white letters? Would they work in the nursery & big kid room? Or can the nursery letters be re-painted for big kid room? That way you could still use it.

I like the idea of b/w photos too. I almost did that with Emily's nursery. Instead I went with the wall letters, but I did put three framed b/w baby photos in one corner of her nursery. They are baby photos of L, me, & Em.

Well, white was what I was leaning toward anyway... so that's a possibility. :) Also, I just was at BRU and saw they have them prepainted for $4 each! (cheap compared to other places I've seen them)

If you buy letters and get tired of the color you can always paint them another color to go with the big kid room.

You all are overestimating my motivation to "repaint" things. ;) LOL.

Hmm, maybe spell out the name when Baby Too's room is a nursery and then just hang the first initial on Too's door once you've redone it as a big kid room.

Now I want a giant E to hang on my wall.

(BTW, how many of us have sought out Erin's BRU registry?)

LOL Elaine! Good thinking! However, you will find it to be disappointing. I did create one, but just for myself to keep track of the incidentals I need to replace. ;) Nothing interesting to see there... heh.
