Shopping...
I bought Baby Too's coming home outfit today. Incidentally, The Children's Place is having an awesome sale. I got Benjamin a TON of stuff for next year, and two pairs of pajamas for $3.49 a piece!!!
Anyway, so I stood in the store with Tom for at least 20 minutes trying to decide whether to buy the gender appropriate color of this outfit. (it comes in pink, blue, and yellow) In the end, I decided to go with yellow... because I like yellow, but mostly to continue driving you all crazy. ;)
I bought the preemie size (up to 7 pounds). Ben was only 6 pounds something or other and SHORT, so preemie/newborn stuff was all that fit him for at least a month. He was absolutely swimming in his 0-3 month coming home outfit.
Just in case you've never looked, this preemie/newborn sizse is HARD TO FIND, which is why I scarfed it up! But just in case I give birth to an 8-pounder out of nowhere (God help me, seriously), I actually DID buy the gender appropriate color in a 0-3 months pajama version of this same outfit. Muahahaha...

thats adorable!! we had the same problem with micah as he was only 6lbs 7...and went down to 6lbs 1!!
My second was less than my first - but maybe it's cause she was a girl (Ben was 9 pounds (C-section) and Ella was 8 pounds 12 ounces (VBAC)). She was also *overdue* (original due date was April 28, my doc moved it up to April 15 after the ultrasound, and she was born on April 25).
I usually hear about second kids weighing more than the first though. My friend's first was 6 pounds something, and her second was 8 pounds and a bit. But she said pushing the second time around was so much easier. In fact, she's trying to talk me into a third kid just so that I'll experience an easier pushing stage! Whatever!

Almost always I hear somebody's second outweighed their first. Jacob outweighed Isaac by almost a pound, but he still wasn't THAT big. He started ballooning once we got him home, though, and only fit in his newborn-sized outfits for five days!
And I know everybody will tell you this as the date approaches, but labor is so much easier the second time around, even with a bigger baby. Remember the Claire story -- 1st baby, pushed for 3 hours. 2nd baby -- pushed for 4 minutes. And both of my fellers were born with their heads in, like, the 20th percentile. By their 6-month appointment it had become the 80th percentile. So nature likes to help a girl out, even if you're a boy-shaped girl like myself.

Oh, you are just toying with everyone! HAHA! And honestly, it cracks me up that you'd buy an outfit JUST for your bloggy people to remain in the dark.
This is too fun for you, isn't it? Maybe *I* won't ever say when *MY* ultrasound is. Hey! I learned from the master. ;-)

Heads up, Target has their line of Carter's layette sets on clearance right now (also, binkies and feeding accessories). I saw some NB ones at our local store yesterday. The sleeper, gown and onesie from a similar set were the only things that fit my little J for a week or two.
