I Still Think Too is Going to Be a Calmer Kiddo...

Despite earlier thoughts to the contrary, I still say Too is going to be a 180 from its brother, energy-wise.

The movements really are different and fewer... I actually jiggle my belly sometimes just to make sure all is well! Right now, as I type this, I'm getting these soft little pushes in my upper abdomen... if you've ever had a cat that liked to "knead" you, that's what it feels like. It's so gentle and quiet!

With Ben, I swore he was trying to bust out a la "Alien" by this point... his movements were always hard, quick and packed a LOT of punch. (come watch him on the move these days and you can imagine what the third trimester must have been like for me)

Anyway, it's just different this time. But I DO keep having mini panic attacks of "I haven't felt the baby all afternoon!!" Sheesh. If it's not one thing, it's another. ;)

Comments:
I usely only feel Haven move at night when I settle down. If I start to worry, all I have to do is lay on my back and she'll start kickin' like crazy.

Question to you and other BTDT moms. Were you told to only sleep on your left side once you reach a certain point in your pregnancy? I swear my doctor told me that last time, but my new doctor told me not to worry about it unless the baby developed growth problems or I had high blood pressure. Hmmm.

However, Laney did have growth problems the last 10 weeks (they were afraid she was too small) and I did have high blood pressure. Brett told me that was the reason my old doctor told me that...but I thought it was just a RULE when you got near the end.

Yeah, I've heard the left side thing. It allows the best circulation of blood and nutrients to the baby and keeps blood pressure down. Apparently, especially in the third trimester, if you lie on your back, your vena cava (spelling?) gets compressed under the weight of the baby and placenta and it can restrict the blood flow/raise bp. I've also heard that you shouldn't panic if you wake up on your back... just flip over to your side. I do my best... but with the reflux, I end up on my back a LOT.

Too is probably moving more than you notice because you are up and about chasing the human tornado, ahem, I mean Ben;-)

Perhaps. But let's not wish TWO human tornadoes on me, okay? One I can handle. Two would mean a trip to the mental ward.

you areso having a girl!!!

There's a 50/50 chance you are right! 13 weeks! :D
