Not to freak you out, but I've read horrible things about those signs, that people who are out to steal babies use those so they know where to go. Not that you live in Missouri, Land of Child Abduction, but... do you remember when that week-old baby girl was abducted last year? Her parents had put up a sign. Both hospitals I gave birth in urged me not to put out a sign or balloons or anything.
 

Next on the to do list: Disable anonymous commenting.
 

Btw, Claire, now you've got me a little concerned. But I live in a pretty secluded and relatively small townhouse development. People can't/won't just drive by my house and see the sign. Actually, only people who live ON my street would see it. So I'm not all THAT worried... but of course now it's in the back of my mind. Argh.
 

Can't you tell who is leaving the post by looking at the ip address anyway?

You know, because that's all a child is to Tom -- "a moment of fun". Or to you, that it's entirely his fault you're pregnant. Who even thinks this crap??
 

The anonymous comments are coming from two different places... (Texas and Canada... I have an idea who Canada may be and if it's who I think it is, they don't mean any harm)

But the anonymous comment in general thing is ticking me off... they've been popping up on and off basically since I started this blog and a lot of them have been kind of annoying, but harmless. That one on the last post really bugged me though. I hate making people sign in to comment, so I just turned on comment approval... it's okay, this blog is either going under its own password after the baby is born or I'm going to merge it with TOBH.
 

Going back to the yard sign...yeah, even in the childbirth class they said "DON'T PUT UP THE SIGNS IN YOUR YARD!" I'm even paranoid enough about leaving all the empty baby gear boxes out for recycling, and having them viewable in the nursery window (in the front of the house).

A month or two ago when there was a white van with a man going around AA county trying to abduct kids? Yeah, there was a report of it in our neighborhood. And I feel very safe in my neighborhood.

had tried to comment and then meant to hit the "other" button because my google/sign in thingy seemed broken. And then the thing went out into cyber-space and I had no way to get it back. Should have told you sooner, but then I was embarrassed for upsetting you :(
But, now I don't want you to worry that there is another crazy person lurking...

LOL Jessica, your comment wasn't the one I was annoyed by. (though I did think it was someone being kinda smartass about knowing the gender of Too) ;)
 

p.s. On my local Freecycle, someone was giving away a "It's A Girl" sign...let me know if that's the one you definitely need, and I can try to claim it for you! ;-)
